The basics of setting up a WordPress Menu

When you are planning your menus, also keep in mind that you don't have to put every page on your menu and you can create submenus for similar pages. For instance, if you have an About page, you can have submenus for Staff members, Locations, Career opportunities, etc. Let's take a look at steps to create a new menu. Basic steps for setting up a WordPress Menu

  • Step 1: choose Menus on the left sidebar by clicking on it.
  • Step 2: to create a new menu, type in the name that you want to give it. Something like: Main Menu or Footer Menu.
  • Step 3: now choose what you want to add to the menu. It can be either a link to a page, post, category or even a custom link.
  • Step 4: once you have your menu created, click Create Menu to save it.
